Message to Families

We would like to provide you with an update regarding the temporary closure of Robert Morris Elementary School due to the presence of asbestos found in the ceiling. After careful consideration and extensive planning, we have made the decision to relocate our students to two neighboring schools, John Adams Elementary and Neil Armstrong Elementary, for the remainder of the academic year.

Ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment for our students is of paramount importance to us. We have collaborated closely with the staff and administration of both John Adams Elementary and Neil Armstrong Elementary to ensure a smooth transition. The classrooms, facilities, and resources at these schools will be made available to our students, and we will work diligently to minimize any disruption to their education.

Beginning Wednesday May 17th, 2023, all students currently enrolled at Robert Morris Elementary will be assigned to either John Adams Elementary or Neil Armstrong Elementary based on grade level and classroom capacity. Parents will receive detailed information regarding the specific arrangements, including transportation logistics, class assignments, and contact information for the respective schools. Our administrative team will be available to address any concerns or answer any questions you may have during this transition.

We understand that this change may present challenges, and we are committed to supporting our students and their families throughout this process. Our dedicated teaching staff will continue to deliver high-quality education and will collaborate closely with their counterparts at the hosting schools to ensure a seamless academic experience.

Rest assured, we will maintain open lines of communication with all stakeholders to provide regular updates on the progress of the asbestos remediation at Robert Morris Elementary. We are actively working on the necessary repairs and anticipate reopening our school building for the following academic year.

We appreciate your understanding, flexibility, and cooperation during this period of transition. By working together, we will continue to prioritize the education and well-being of our students.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
