Message From The Principal


Dear Students, Parents/Guardians, and teachers of the Scranton school District,

    

     The U.S. Secretary of education, Margaret Spellings announced today that William Prescott elementary School of the Scranton School District has been designated as a “Blue Ribbon School” for the 2007-2008 school year. William Prescott Elementary School in one of nine public schools in Pennsylvania, and the only school in Northeastern Pennsylvania to receive this prestigious award.

 

     The “No Child Left Behind – Blue Ribbon Schools Program' singles out public and private K-12 schools either for their academic superiority or because they have demonstrated significant gains in student achievement.

 

     This award would not be possible if it were not for the students, parents/guardians, and teachers of the Scranton School District working together to achieve academic greatness. The 2007 Blue Ribbon Schools will be honored at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. on November 12 and 13, 2007.
