Message From The Principal

Dear Parents

The 2008-2009 school year has finally arrived.  We must acknowledge that despite advances in so many different areas, we currently face some of the greatest challenges of modern time.  These challenges necessitate a cooperative approach between the school and home.  Both must make substantial contributions to the educational process if our children are to be successful in this increasingly demanding world.

The Scranton School district is committed to moving education forward by improving programs, methodology, and facilities.   Most importantly, however, we are committed to ongoing teacher development.  Well-prepared, dedicated teachers make programs successful.

As parent or guardian, you are the most influential person in your child's life; only with your assistance can we meet your child's full potential and maximize his/her learning. Your greatest and most necessary contribution will be your time.  Being positive, having great expectation and hope for your child's academic success, social growth, and moral development are necessary and an excellent staring point.  Nothing, however is more important than spending time each day assisting, reviewing and reinforcing concepts taught at school.  This dedication and support emphasizes to your child that they and their educational success are important.

Finally, we have provided you with this hand book so that you can familiarize yourself with our school policies and procedures.  Understanding and supporting these policies assist the school in providing the most productive learning environment for all children.

Sincerely,

Mr. Paul Stefani

Principal
